Flyingpoodle says Hi
I discovered Poodleforum.com while doing online research for my next poodle(s). My loyal George the standard poodle died this last spring at age 14, we'd had him for 12 years. We're not sure how he started his life, but he was found living on his own in a state park in Oregon, he'd been eating out of trash cans for about 6 months before the ladies who cleaned the park could convince him to come into their van to take him to a better home. He was very mistrustful of strangers his whole life, but he loved us with his whole heart.
I would welcome breeder recommendations for my next puppy, I'm looking for friendly personality in the dog, and a very reputable and experienced breeder. West Coast of US or Canada would be preferred, as I don't want to put puppies through the shipping experience, but would be willing to make a road trip. (I'm in Oregon).
Thanks to all of the people posting poodle pictures, it helps with the poodle shaped hole in my heart to look at them!

Welcome to the forum!! I am sorry for the loss of George, but so happy he was fortunate enough that you gave him a second chance.
Kalonece Poodles in BC has a brand new litter of reds and blacks. She is a very ethical breeder. She health tests the parents and gives the puppies wonderful, loving care. These puppies are not going to be large Standards, but they will be pretty and should be healthy.

I'm sorry that you have lost George, poor boy had a rough start but how wonderful that he had you and lived to be 14 in a loving home. My Sisko came from Paris Poodles in Chilliwack BC and I have seen lovely black puppies from Night's Echo in Gibsons BC (just up on the Sunshine Coast). Welcome to the forum and I hope you find a new poodle to love soon.

George had a wonderful home for many years and you had a loyal companion. So sorry for his loss. Your good experience with him will lead you to a good search for a poodle puppy.

Welcome Flyingpoodle!
I am sorry for your loss of George. I am sure you blessed his life in many ways, as much as he blessed yours. I understand your grief as we recently lost our mini this summer after 15 years. This site does help to soothe that pain until you can find the right poodle for your family. You will find lots of poodle support here.

Thanks for info on breeders!
Thanks for the info on West Coast breeders! I'm looking to get a poodle puppy (or two!!!) next spring or so, so I've got some time to make contacts and get comfortable with people. I'll check out the recommendations for sure! Sisko is beautiful! I'd love a silver poodle. And a cream. And a beige. And a red. And...

Welcome! When I lost my last poodle, the house was not the same without one. I will never be without a poodle (or two). Happy hunting for your perfect poodle!

Hello and welcome. Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend George. The best medicine is to get another poodle. It won't take the place of George but it will fill the void in your heart. Best regards. Paul
