Hi
I am new here and hope to spend lots of time talking about poodles, but right now my poodle got lost yesterday and I want to get info out that might help me find her. I live just north of Houston in Cypress, and my 11", 4 year old, white-ish (papers say apricot, but she's super pale) poodle that I have had for less than a month got loose from my son while he was walking her yesterday afternoon. I am going to post a more detailed message in the general discussions section.

Lost White Miniature Poodle in Cypress on Saturday
OK, apparently I don't have full posting priveleges yet, so I will just post my info here. Full permission is given to pass on this information in order to help me find my dog. She was last seen near the Domino's Pizza on FM 529 at Haven Creek in Cypress yesterday, Saturday the 21st, at about 3 PM when she got loose from my son who was walking her. She is wearing a tie dye bandanna and has some multicolored spots dyed in her fur. Pictures can be seen here: Lost White Miniature Poodle in Cypress on Saturday | Cypress | eBay Classifieds (Kijiji) | 16453673 I can be reached at 281 656 8721 if she is found or spotted. Her name is Moddey.

Oh, I am so sorry. How heartbreaking. I hope you find her soon, safe and sound. She's so cute.

Don't forget notifying your animal control, dog pound/warden, etcs, Craigslist, your local newspaper and a door to door neighborhood search, as well as posting pics/info everywhere you can.
Sorry for your misfortune, and hoping your poodle returns on her own, or is returned to your family safe and sound.
Please keep us informed of how your search is going.

Thanks y'all
Thank you Barb for sharing it on FB, and thanks everyone for the well wishes and kind words. Since it happened Saturday afternoon(yesterday), I have spent last night and today posting flyers around the community and at area businesses (nearly 100 so far), and posting all over facebook on local dog related pages and on my own, my husband's and my kids' pages, and put up adds on craigslist, ebay classified, fidofinder, petfinder, cypress lost pet forum, and the spca. I work until noon tomorrow, but then the plan is to go around to all area shelters with flyers and proof of ownership to find her or give them my info in case she's brought in. In addition I plan on taking flyers to all area vets, groomers, pet supply stores, etc. If y'all have any further suggestions it would be great! Oh, yeah, when I got super upset last night I took my mildly stupid year old lab mix out on a leash telling her to 'find Moddey' lol, but I am thinking that she didn't quite know what was being asked of her. *sigh*

I know you said you haven't had Moddey very long - has she bonded with anyone in your family? I'm fostering a 9 year old cocker spaniel who we've only had about 3 weeks and I took her to our local gourmet dog food store on Saturday to spend the day with the owner, who is the one who rescued her... When I left the store, I guess Cricket got a little upset because she wanted to come with me so badly.
Hopefully Moddey knows and loves you enough to come to you if she hears you calling. Taking your other dog is also a good idea as if a stray is skittish, they may feel more comfortable approaching another dog than a lone human. Good luck!

Oh she is very bonded to me already. She follows me everywhere I go, and insists on sitting with me and such. She comes when I call her with no problem, so I think if she heard me calling her she would come to me if she was able. I am taking one of my other dogs out for walks frequently to see if we can find her. Even if she's no search and rescue dog, River might notice Moddey if we get close enough, like if Moddey were cowering under a bush or something. I am hoping, anyway. She notices every cat and bird and large bug, so I would hope she'd notice the poodle!

Hope you find her soon - mass postering is an excellent idea, as is visiting all the pounds and kennels. Is she tagged and microchipped?
