Hi Everybody,
I just wanted to introduce myself and my 3 year old Male, Cream, Standard Poodle, Poppy. I just started grooming him myself this past summer and I have a lot to learn, but I had to take him into the vet on Friday and he told me that I was doing an excellent job of keeping his ears clean, which is one of the things I had worried about. Poppy has been having a rough time of it with his left rear ankle for the past 2- 3 weeks, he's got an acral lick granuloma on it, that has returned several times over the past couple of years. I've tried several different vets and this is the first one who has actually put a name to the problem. I was very happy with him and Poppy seems to be responding very quickly to the treatment. It's good to be here and since Poppy is the first Poodle I've ever owned and my other 2 dogs are Italian Greyhounds, Poppy and I both need guidance in how to be and treat a Poodle, because I, for one, believe his Poodleness is a special gift and needs to be encouraged, except for some of his bright ideas that need to be redirected!
