Cute little white powder puff in Maryland/DC/NoVA area. Will upload pictures later. Mostly poodle but may be some maltese in there. Shy girl, needs some work and owners who are retired, work from home or can bring her to work with them. Not at all aggressive but because she's shy, prefers home without children. Gets along with all other animals.

As most of you know - the Poodle Forum does not allow the sale of pets/puppies here on the forum. However, we know that sometimes there are pets out there in a foster or rescue situation looking for a new home.
The administrator and mods have been busy again - discussing a new section of the forum for rescue and adoption placements. This will NOT be for "puppies for sale"; but rather if someone has (or knows of) a dog that needs a new home.
The way this would work is you could send a PM to me with the details. I'll get whatever information I need and inform our administrator, Yung. He will be the only one authorized to put threads into the rescue section - but this could be a resource for people looking for an adult poodle, or someone who has a dog that needs placement...
We would ask that there will be no $$ required for the rescue/foster dog unless the $$ would be going to an established rescue organization as an adoption fee. I do foster and rescue from my home on occasion and when I foster for the rescue agency here in town, they do ask an adoption fee to help them with their mission... I don't charge if I'm doing my own rescue work.
If anyone has any suggestions or ideas to make this run better/smoother, please chime in!!
Thanks, Yung, for suggesting this idea!

This is wonderful! I am all for rescue. There are some GREAT dogs out there just waiting for homes. In fact I groomed one for Poodle Rescue of Houston on Sunday and Vince is such a wonderful little dog. He is patient and sweet, so good in fact I am hoping someone will adopt him for Christmas. My grooming isn't great but he looked more like a mop than a dog when I started. The equipment we have to work with is not always the greatest so I had to do what I could and he was so good for me. He still has a lot of hair on him and he looks heaver than he is. He only weighs about 7 to 8 pounds.

Tiffany update!
From Linda at SCRATCH: x 3
Quote:
Tiffany had her surgery yesterday (12/19) and is now resting at home with us. She is on very limited activity--actually no walking except for potty breaks, with pain meds, an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory. She will be in her splint (they chose a splint over a cast for a better fit to straighten the leg) for at least 6 weeks. We go back on Tuesday, Jan. 2nd for a recheck and then again one month later for x-rays and possible splint removal, depending on the healing process. The leg was completely broken, a wedge removed due to the previous growth pattern and reset. She was fortunate no damage had been done to her elbow due to the way the bones had grown.
Thank you again for your generous support--without your kindness this would not have been possible. You can go to this link to follow Tiffany's progress:

Thank you to everyone who contributed or kept this little girl in their thoughts. With the care she'll receive at SCRATCH and a little bit of luck, she'll be running and frolicking in no time. (Hopefully in her forever home.)
