What's with the influx of weird introduction posts???? At least 5 of them in the last 2 days ... definitely not poodle people! Are we being invaded???

Typical spammers... report these posts as you see them and either Yung or I will take care of them as soon as possible! I try to ban these people before they even get a chance to post, but weekends are tough!! I do get reported posts on my phone, so if I'm in a position to take care of it even out and about, I will!

I saw those posts, too, and went looking for a "Report Post" link. Is there such a thing? If not, what is the procedure to report something to you?

Is there a way of preventing new members posting links until they have made a certain numbr of posts? It might cut down on the bots, at least.

I Agree... I'm new here but I thought they were weird too! I just don't respond to anything I think might be 'iffy' I just didn't 'get' a couple of them????

I'm not sure of the answer to this - I'd have to think not... The only "prevention" we have is that new members MUST post in the member introduction section FIRST, before they can post anywhere else in the forum, but that doesn't stop them from posting a boat-load of links in their intro post!

Thanks CB - yes, the report post link is in the lower left corner of each post - red triangle. Reporting a post will send an email to the administrator and to me - we try to get to these as soon as we're able.

I generally try to go through new members' profiles at least once a day and if there are any with suspicious IP addresses, or signatures containing spam, I ban them before they get a chance to post at all... but some slip through (obviously!)

Just keep reporting suspicious posts if you see them! Thanks, all!!

Thank you for all that you do. This is my favorite site to visit, and am on here almost all day M-F. Only once have I see an odd posting, and it was early Saturday morning. We had a clinic to help kids catch up on their work. So, I read it to the two other teachers, and we just cackled, as only mean old school teachers can do But anyways, thank you for all your hard work in making this such a wonderful forum.
