Default Rude PMs

I just got a really rude PM about a welcome message I posted a reply to. I don't understand, does this happen to you guys often? Is there a way to report people for name calling?

There was no name calling (other than dufous) involved. Get over it. You can't read an entire thread before commenting?

There should be NO reason that ANYONE should call someone ANY name (even "doufous" hurts - its NOT NICE!!!!) ESPECIALLY if the post being ridiculed is a WELCOME post to a new member, for Pete's sake!!! A welcome post is, by its nature, a warm-fuzzy sort of post - not something that should be shot down... And no, not everyone reads every post in every thread before commenting. I know I don't... it is NOT a prerequisite for posting.

Anyone wanting to report offensive behavior here on the Poodle Forum is encouraged to send a private message to me or the administrator (poodleadm) or both if desired.

Please refrain from calling any other members any names that can be construed as offensive (and, personally, I would find any name calling into question someone's intellect; such as "dufous" offensive!)

Dufous was in a PM. I'm getting real tired of people not reading the entire thread. Thought I said so already. Also getting tired of logging into here. Just trying to help someone find a good agility school. I guess I thought our dogs were the most important compontents here!

How do YOU know that I did not receive a warning for this? And why drag up stuff from so long ago unless your point is to try and cause trouble? The OP did not mention your name so you did not have to do this, unless you did it with an agenda. I cannot remember if you are one of the members of another forum who have made it clear they will be back here specifically to cause trouble or not?? Happy holidays Princess Dolly. Regardless of your intent, I wish you no ill will.

Ok as a newbie here maybe I should just stay out of this as I know no one or their posting habits. But I have one comment on the getting tired of logging in here comment. No one is there forcing you to click the bookmark. JMHO...if you need a break take one, if you don't want to post don't.

I don't have time to read and entire thread all the time. I belong to forums where there may be 10 pages of comments before I ever get to it. I read the first few, I may be repeating and answer but the op is the one that I am addressing when I hit reply and I guess if they didn't want everyone's opinion it would never have been posted on a public forum.

Ok back to reading

I haven't been a member for all that long, but I've never received a nasty PM on this forum. (I have received obnoxious PMs and snippy "Reps" on my writing forum though.) You can forward the actual PM to a Mod (Plumcrazy) or the Admin (PoodleAdmin--not sure if that's his exact screen name), or like CB mentioned, click on the little yield sign at the bottom of the message. The latter is also how you report offensive posts.

I really don't understand the need to send someone a nasty PM. I've sent a lot of PMs and it's usually related to Group Buys or to elaborate on a post (ie., Flightsofancy's horrible experience with her breeder). There are bound to be disagreements on a public forum due to the number of members with diverse personalities, but there's no reason we can't be civil towards each other.
