Rowan's "Poodle Color" threads should be a sub-forum
Looks like Rowan's "Poodle Color" threads in the Poodle Pictures sub forum are a hit. And no wonder - it's a great idea and a lot of fun. Just my 2 cents, but I'd like to see these gathered together in a sub-forum, or they will get all spread out and their traffic will wane.

Agreed! I LOVED every single photo, and was overwhelmed with the beauty of all the poodles on this forum!!! Every color and variety was my favorite!

Excellent idea! That way new members in months to come will be able to contribute.

I agree! Then when one of the many questions come up about colors, there will be a thread to refer to. Maybe you should make one for Silver Beige and Cafe au Lait since those two colors cause the most confusion. There aren't as many poodles those colors, but I think CM Millie is a Cafe, isn't she? She is getting such a beautiful color and such an unusual one.
It could be a place where people just post one or two pics of their poodles for reference.
I love looking at the different colors and have really enjoyed checking out the pictures.

I don't have the authority to make subforurms (or at least I don't THINK I do!! I wouldn't know how even if I did!!) Yung may not be back out here until Monday - but I'll make sure he sees this thread and see if it's a possibility to put the threads in their own forum... In the meantime, just keep posting in them and they'll pop back up to the top!!!

The Arpeggio web site, which I've linked to in the past, groups the colors this way:
POODLE COAT COLORS: SILVER & SILVER BEIGE
POODLE COAT COLORS: BROWN & CAFE AU LAIT
POODLE COAT COLORS: BLUE & BLACK
POODLE COAT COLORS: RED, APRICOT & CREAM
POODLE COAT COLORS: WHITE & CREAM
POODLE COAT COLORS: BRINDLE & SABLE
ARPEGGIO POODLES

I hate to follow the well-beaten path! LOL I just grouped them according to how common they are, well at least to me. I kept apricot and cream together as many people have apricot poodles who lean toward cream, or are cream with apricot ears.
MINIPOODLELOVER: I'm thinking it would be a good idea to post this link in the Poodle Pictures forum and ask Plum to sticky it for easy reference. Then we'd have a separate poodle color reference thread that members could add links too.
ETA: I didn't realize apricot was the hardest color to produce and also the rarest. And to think, someone threw Brandy away and he was a true apricot. My gain!

That website almost causes me to have a seizure every time I go to it >.<
...as far as apricot being the "rarest" of all poodle colours, thats hogwash! Most of the poodles I know in person(see on a regular basis) are either a light apricot or a dark apricot (a few brown and one or two black thrown in)
And again...as far as it being hard to achieve this colour >.> (as the website states) well I think one should visit Terry's website or Natalie's to see exactly what an apricot should look like!!!

Thanks!
I've never seen an apricot in person here in NoVA (with the exception of Brandy, of course). The only red I ever met belonged to my former breeder ("Sisco"), and he was from CA. I always forget about him! I see a lot of black poodles and white poodles. Merlin is the only silver I've seen, and I see the occasional brown poodle too. I guess it all depends on where you live!

I don't remember seeing ANY poodles (other than my neighbors 2 blacks which lead me to love the breed!) before getting Elphie...but its kind of that thing where once you own something you notice that everyone else has it xD (I do that with cars too...once I get a car and I'm driving it I see those types of cars EVERYWHERE xD)
But We have a ton of little mini's and toys here and just a handful of standards...but most of them are of some apricot shading!
Tell me if its just me...but is the arpeggio website confusing/obnoxious to anyone else?
