As a result, I bought a dog from her, which, in retrospect, was a mistake. Potential poodle buyers come to the forum for information about breeders. Surely they would benefit from a full picture.

I understand where you are coming from ... but I didn't know about this forum either when I bought Russell. I have to say thanks be for that! If I would have taken the advise given here ... I wouldn't have went near the breeder with a ten foot pole!
I am from the west, checked with breeders here for a brown but none were available at the time. So I head east. Found a ton of breeders, and chose the one that had a TON of referrals and a great website. Full health testing, shows, agility I could go on and on. Of course I get my puppy, then start looking for advise and stumble upon this website. Innocently start posting, someone asks about my breeder, I tell them who it is and WHAM!!!! She's evil, she's a puppy miller, she's a crook & yada yada yada! Scared the crap out of me, I'm thinking what the heck have I done!!! Every single person that bad-mouthed my breeder was from back east, and most of them were breeders!
I LOVE my dog and would not hesitate to purchase another puppy for her if I wanted her style of dog. She is human and has made mistakes, but tell me you all haven't. I take a lot of what I read here and on Facebook with a grain of salt. It's easy to trash-talk someone when your sitting at a keyboard.

I wish I had known about this website before hand because I would have loved a warning. My experience has been less than magical, but on the other hand I do love my poodle.

And the person this thread is about is an expert at bad mouthing people, which would be why nine Canadian breeders were looking into a defamation suit last year for the slanderous nonsense she posted and emailed about them.

And then sometimes you're lead to believe one thing (like a breeder you respect actually knows the breed standard hahaha) because of this forum when the reality is drastically different...my bit of advice, ask other breeders what they think in private because that's where people are most honest (except me I'll happily relay my tale to anyone that asks publicly or not ^_^)
I think this thing (and since no one will name names this is an Ormar puppy from Ora Marcus) needs to be settled between the parties not by people who hold grudges against the wind for blowing -.- and I hope that it is settled at some point.
I love the poodle paintings btw

Well me too--if I had found this forum before I got my two girls, I would have bought some other dogs for sure! I only found this forum by googling my dogs' pedigree and found a relative to them, owned by a PF member However, I got who I got and I love them to bits, so guess I'll get a better quality dog some day in the future. Btw, I googled the breeder who is the subject of this thread, and holy cow the dogs featured on her website are stunners!

Cavon I think you have been on this forum long enough to know that showing dogs is not a guarantee that a breeder is honest. Greeder = greedy breeder.
Can you tell me just how many health tested Canadian Champions this greeder has bred?
Seeing as you know this breeder why don't you post the pictures of her puppies from facebook? The one from Nov. 5 with the puppies who have totally pink pigment and the one from Nov 7 where all the puppies pigment is now pitch black. Both pictures fit easily in a screen shot and you could post them for all to peruse.
Show mills are just a different kind of puppy mill!
Education can change things.

That photo looks like someone has painted the lips........and it almost looks like they have collagen. I don't ever remember seeing a puppy's mouth that young looking that full or dark.......

Pretty darn black on the 1 week old shot! Would it be wrong to say "I want"
No over-saturation here either ... nice clear pic!

I will have to agree with you here. I love my dogs, both of them, and I love my sister in laws dog (a different breeder from yours). If I had listened to what some think of her, I might have made a different choice, too. I wouldn't hesitate buying from my breeder again in a moment and feel like my dogs, no matter what people think about the "diverse breeding practices" speak pretty darned highly for themselves.
We do need to take things with a grain of salt on here, but that puppy seems clearly inked to me, which is dishonest. Dishonesty is a reason to not buy from someone. If they are dishonest about something as basic as that, what else could be hidden? It is hard to get very black points on light colored dogs. I don't think that is anything to be ashamed of. Arreau has tried hard to blaken her points and she has! It is NOTHING to hide, but something to correct as it happens. No biggy, honestly.
