My poor baby is in the hospital..I am utterly heartbroken. Like I said in my other thread she wouldn't eat all day yesterday, I had to finally give her wet food which she ate but wouldn't eat any of the breeder's food. I figured she'd get sick from it so I was prepared for a messy crate when I woke up..but poor Charlie was sooo sick. She wouldn't even get out of her crate. I had to take it apart to take her out, gave her a bath and she was crying the whole time..just whimpering to herself. I am such a bad mom, she was doing that at night but it wasn't her "get me out of here cry" that she usually does so I thought maybe she was just having a bad dream..yeah, my baby was sick. During her bath she wouldn't even stand. She just lies there. I didn't even brush my hair, dude, I just changed out of my pjs and drove her to the animal hospital. Parvo test came back negative, thank God, but she has round worms..vet said it's normal in dogs but it wouldn't cause her to be THAT sick..I mean, she's absolutely miserable. She said her ears are dirty and has hair around them or something like that but that's the least of her worries. And she has a runny nose and her temp was low when she got there but it raised a little bit by the time I left. They're putting her on an IV and she has to be there all day :( She's dehydrated and she hasn't eaten much since I got her. Once she eats they're putting her on antibiotics too. I pray she will be ok. She looks so sad and ugh, I wanted to cry the entire time I was there. My main concern is Charlie, obviously, but this hospitalization ended up being extremely expensive. Do you guys think I should try calling the breeder? She was supposed to be healthy, but the vet said she wouldn't go from healthy to that sick in one day. I don't know what to do..I just hope my baby can pull through :(
